I've had trouble sharing folders for awhile now. When I created a folder for sharing on my network I would right-click on it and chose the 'Sahring and Security' option.

The 'Network and security' sharing option was always disabled. That's when I relized that I forgot to run the Home Network wizard and to enable 'printer and file sharing'.

Now its just a matter of going to the Network and Security' tab and chosing the options to 'Share this folder' and 'Allow network users to change my file'. I've been able to access all folders now without the extra step described above.

Both computers have WinXP Pro with NTFS.

Hi There, I have a bit of a problem with NTFS file permissions. I've got a folder which I set deny USERS now I can't change the permissions back again even as an Admin user.

Is there any way to fix this?

This is a GREAT solution. I've seen this problem all over the web, but this is the only solution that worked! I had the permissions correct under "Sharing," but they also have to be correct on the "Security" tab.... THANKS!
