We have been using Airtel Broadband for past couple of months and have not faced any problem with it so far. Earlier we used the MTNL broadband services which had problems with service in our area so we switched to Airtel. One of the major shortcomings of Airtel Broadband as per me was that the checking of usage was not as easy as it used to be with MTNL, however, Airtel has a Java based desktop client called Airtel NetExpert which shows you the data usage updated until last 2 to 3 days, but you can’t check precise usage of your Airtel Broadband Internet connection as of now. However, we found a very nice workaround to quickly and accurately finding out how much of Data usage is left in your Broadband connection using official data from Airtel. In this article, I will share the same with you.

One of these days, I got an official email from Airtel Customer service telling me that I can purchase high speed usage beyond my Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit under special package called smartbytes. On this page, an Airtel broadband user can check the remaining high speed usage which is most accurate compared to other online reports (by online interface of Airtel Selfcare or NetExpert Agent).
To check the Airtel Broadband data usage details follow the below step:
1. Open the webpage – http://www.airtel.in/smartbyte-s/page.html from your Airtel Broadband connection and it will show you the most recently metered usage of the Airtel broadband without any login. The catch is that it will work only if you are connected to Internet through your Airtel broadband connection only, because it uses data to show from internal server of Airtel based on your router’s MAC address.
Hope you find this small tip useful and it will help you use your Internet data more wisely and in netter informed way. Check out more-
