I get a new windows telling me to also enter Server Address, domain and username (so, all in all 5 fields). Wtf /:

I believe this is because I have 2-step verification activated and windows 8 has no way to let google ask me to add the windows 8 mail client to it’s allowed applications list.

How did you get to this Add email accounts screen? I search “add email account” within W8CP and got nothing. I have one account setup and have no idea how to get back there. When I open Mail, it just has the word “Accounts” across the top and no longer show me my mail accounts.

@Bob
I had the same issue on my box. I solved it by putting my cursor in the top right of the screen while within the Mail app. Click on the settings and then Accounts. It’s a very bad UX design, but that’s all we have so far. Hopefully that’s not overlooked b/c it’s very difficult to find.

Cheers,
Matt

After initially adding an account on the left accounts pane the add other accounts list disappears from the bottom of the pane. To continue adding accounts use the right side charms bar to get add accounts back. on my tablet i just swipe from the right edge left <–|–

For those who use the 2-step verification, all what they need is to create a new Application-specific password. It type it instead of default one. That’s it!

For people with 2-step verification enabled, you can generate application specific passwords on google 2-step verification page
