Problem:
One of our readers "The dark knight" reported a problem that he has recently installed a game which he wants to play offline, but it tries to connect to the Internet every now and then. There are some times when some applications like games ,software’s installed on your system try to connect to Internet for various reasons.This becomes very annoying specially when you don’t know how to block it.Don’t worry here is the way you can fix it.
Solution:
The solution to this type of problem is different depending whether you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows XP without Service Pack 2.
For Windows XP with Service Pack 2
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Click Windows Firewall.
3. In the Windows Firewall dialog box, click the Exceptions tab, and then click Add Program
4. Now locate the program executable which tries to connect to Internet.
5. After you select your program, click OK.
6.Uncheck the check box for the program you just added if you don’t want it to connect to Internet.
For Windows XP without Service Pack 2:
In this case we prefer you can install a third party tool like Zone Alarm or free avast home edition which comes with free firewall if you don’t want to buy any firewall.
This will Fix the trouble.
