Burn Any Disk Image File Type To Disk With ISO Buddy

by Rohit Khurana on June 14, 2010

Many times we have disk images created by friends or some online sources. Such disk images can be used to create or burn disks for use in physical disk drives. The problem with these disk images is that many a times the disk images are created using proprietary tools like Nero / Roxio etc. which is why these files are not recognized by many softwares. We have already reviewed a useful tool called AnyToISO which can convert such images into ISO which is a standard format which most disk burning softwares recognize.

In this article, I will review a tool which is even better. This tool is called ISO Buddy, it can convert a lot (GI, NRG, CDI, MDF, IMG, B5I, B6I, DMG, PDI, BIN and CCD) of disk image file formats to ISO and burn them to disk directly using IMGBurn tool which is a freeware.

ISO buddy can open any of these popular disk formats, convert them into ISO and then burn the disk using IMGBurn. The interface is very neat and easy to use with most of the options on the same screen in the form of buttons.

This involves a two step process – first it converts the disk format to the standard ISO format and then burns the ISO format disk to the physical disk. The tool is really small in size, low on resource usage and free for personal use.
