Ever wondered what is happening back-stage when your Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox is loading a web-page?

There are lots of HTTP requests being processes, lots of scripts being executed. A lot of stuff happens. If you want to know the detail about all these background activities, you can do it free. HTTP-Watch is a free tool for HTTP sniffing which works right inside your Internet Explorer or Firefox and will capture each and every activity of the webpage load. You can use this tool to monitor your website or any other web-site and monitor every activity during the load of the web-page. You can use this to test your websites and blogs.

Fix:

To know all the details of a web page loading follow these steps :

1. Download and Install Free Version of HttpWatch

2. Now Open Internet Explorer and Click on the HttpWatch Icon to load the activity recorder as seen in the snapshot below:

3. This will load a recorder view of HttpWatch at the bottom half of IE screen. Click on the Record Button as seen below:

4. Now Open the Website you want to monitor or test, and you will see the logs flowing in this recorder as the website loads. After the website is loaded completely, save the logs in a file. It will be saved with a .hwl extension.

5. Double click on the file. It will open it with the log viewer application of HttpWatch.

6. Ta Da ! Here are the detailed logs of the website opening.

I have to access my personal email id, my trouble-fixers email id and a few other email ids. If you have many email ids, you can make things very simple by forwarding all those mails to one of your Gmail id. Gmail is spacious and fast, so you will need not worry about logging into multiple accounts. You can create filters to separate the emails you receive from different email ids.

The tricky part is to reply to an email from another email id from Gmail. In this article I will share the way how you can add another gmail account to your Gmail account.

Fix:

Just follow these easy steps:

1. Sign into your Gmail Account, click on Settings >Accounts and Import Screen and click on “Send mail from another address” button.

2. Next screen will be a pop-up which will ask for Name and Email id, enter name and email id and click Next.

3. Next Screen will ask you for setting an SMTP server. Select the Gmail server, this is simple and straight forward.

4. Next screen will ask you to send a verification code, simple press the “Send Verification” button. This is to ensure that its your own email id.

5. Open your other email address you added in step 2, you will receive an email like one below, it will have a code and a link. You can either click the link or put the code in the screen below.

This will add the new address to your gmail. I suggest you to modify this setting just below the “Send mail from another address” button which is an option to reply from gmail and the same address.

That is all you need. Now when you compose an email with Gmail, you can select the email address from which you want to send it from.

How Can I Protect My USB Pen Drive With A Password – USB Flash Drive Security

Delete / Remove Unwanted Useless Icons In Vista My Computer

There has been many emails we got regarding the some useless items in My Computer in vista which various user do not like and wanted to remove these extra items from my computer location in vista.

There could be different items like Web Folders, My Sharing Folders, Nokia PC Suite folder which are created by different programs and application you install on your computer.

Here is how you can remove any additional items from my computer in vista

Fix:

1. Open Start Menu >> Run

2. Type regedit and click ok

3. Navigate to the following registry path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace

4. Under this key you will see the following subkeys with long key names as shown in the image below

5. Following is the key unique key names for these extra items

• Network Connections – {7007ACC7-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}
• Printers & Faxes – {2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D}
• Recycle Bin – {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
• Administrative Tools – {D20EA4E1-3957-11D2-A40B-0C5020524153}
• Fonts – {D20EA4E1-3957-11D2-A40B-0C5020524152}
• Web Folders – {BDEADF00-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}

If you some other values other than these mentioned above, you can further expand any long name key under namespace and see its value name in the right pane and you will get to know to which icon it belongs

6. To remove any icon, delete the corresponding key under NameSpace – in the left pane right click the subkey and select delete. ( as shown in the image below )

32 GB Kingston Pen Drive Is Fake ? – How To Know Whether A Pen Drive Is Fake or Not ?

Trouble:

Some days back my father came up to me showing me a 32 GB pen drive which he got from a friend of him who wanted to sell this big size pen drive for 1000 Indian Rupees or 20 dollars. My father brought to me as I might be interested. Firstly I got interested to get this pen drive as this pen drive is looking like a real Kingston pen drive of 32 GB.

The deal for 32gb pen drive was sounding quite good to me, but i decided to inspect further and took a close look and found some thing suspicious with the build quality and then I plugged the pen drive in USB port on my laptop and checked the size in my computer it was showing approx 31 GB

I decided to inspect little further and started playing with the drive by transferring some files but these were quite small files which transferred to pen drive very easily and quickly

Fix:

Still I had some suspicion and decide to inspect the pen drive in device manager where the truth revealed that it was fake pen drive as it was showing no company name in manufacturer and it did not have any serial number also. This pen drive is another fake pen drive being invented at the local computer markets in India – LOL

So If you get any pen drive claiming it to be big size original pen drive – please examine the details of the drive by connecting it to computer and check it under device manager. Following are the problem you might face with a fake pen drive like this:

1. The data in the pendrive with get corrupted due to bad sectors most of the time.
2. On coping pictures only limited amount or 512MB of data will remain intact.
3. You cannot format the Pendrive.
4. Windows Disk Check utility will hand if made to run on the pendrive.

Restrict Computer Usage In Windows Vista

One of our readers asked a question :

How can I set the usage time on my computer, so that I can prevent my kids to use computer too much? It is impacting their studies.

It can be the case with teacher students, employer employee, or parents and kids where user wants to restrict the user of computer to other in some way.

To this I would answer that the best way to sort it out is to talk to your kids, but if that does not work in your case, we have a solution for you. Microsoft Windows Vista as a built in feature of setting the computer usage policy.

The feature we are talking about is Parental controls. In this article we are going to discuss how you can set the parental controls and how you can use it.

Fix:

In first place, you need to have an Administrator right account. After this create a user account for your kids with limited privileges. To create a new user, go to Control Panel > User Accounts and create a new limited account if it is does not already exist.

Set up Parental Control

1. Go to Control Panel > Parental controls as shown below:

2. On Parental control Screen, select the account you want to restrict.

3. Apply the parental control and set the usage settings as shown below:

4. You can set the Web Filter to filter abusive or objectionable websites. You can restrict games and certain applications like chats etc. You can also define hours of the day for which the computer use is allowed or for which it is blocked for the user.

See the example below, in which, there allowed usage is for 4 hours each day on weekdays and 6 hours on weekends.
