Trouble:

We have been receiving lots of mails from our readers that their system got infected by different types of viruses.

Normally most of the viruses which infect any windows XP system causes the following problems:

1. Task Manager disabled - So, you cannot end the process related to the virus.

2. regedit command is disabled - Registry editing is disabled.

3. msconfig command is also disabled - This command is disabled by most of the viruses so that using msconfig you cannot remove virus from start up, if it is their.

4. Folder options becomes hidden and doesn’t appear from windows.

Above given are some of the most common problems caused by most of the viruses.

Trouble:

Are you among those who are not able to access or see your folder options under File Menu>>Tools in Windows Explorer on your Windows XP ? This problem of hidden or disabled folder options occur normally due to malicious virus (w32.rontokbro@mm) activity.

The virus creates an entry in registry to disable “Folder Options” in Windows explorer.

Problem: It is due to some kind of virus/ trojan activity which normally disables the task manager.Now due to this problem when ever the user press alt+ctrl+del to launch windows task manager it gives an error saying “Task Manager is being disabled by your administrator”.

Problem:

Recently we received a mail from one of our readers having some login issues with windows xp due to a file named mscd.exe ,so when ever he tries to login an error message pops up saying “error loading mscd.exe”

So what is mscd.exe ?
mscd.exe is basically a spyware or adware which infects your system in the following fashion:

• Deletes programs.
• Registers Browser Help Objects.
• Creates Run Once Keys.
• Runs other programs.
• Creates known malware.
• Creates copies of itself.
