Trouble:
On our our readers Sandeep wrote “I don’t know what is the sound driver in my PC. Is it possible to know PC sound driver name?“

Surely its possible to know what sound driver is installed on your PC.
Not only this, you can see the device drivers for all the devices which are connected to PC and are monitored by Windows Device Manager software.
Lets see the procedure to check it.
Fix:
Follow these simple steps:
1. Go to Start > Run to open the run prompt. If you are not able to open the run command, see this post.
2. In run prompt, type “devmgmt.msc” and press enter. This will open Wndows Device Manager.
Note: In case you don’t have admin right you can see this post for getting admin rights.
3. As you can see on the Device manager screen below, go down to the device for which you want to see driver details. Double click on the device name. It will open up a properties window for that device. Now click on the “Driver” tab on that properties window.
That is it, you can see the Driver Provider, Driver Date,Driver Version and other driver related data on this screen.
In same way, you can see the same kind of driver information for Video drivers, modem drivers , Ethernet card drivers etc.
This information will help you at the time if you want to upgrade any device driver.
For example, if you check for realtek driver version available on its web-site and the one installed on your computer, you can see whether the version on web-site is newer or same.

Hi,
What ever you mentioned is absolutely right, but don’t you think it’s quite difficult to see all the drivers using device manager. so i always suggest to use online scan tool http://driveragent.com/ to check your compatible system drivers.
This tool will scan your system by installing a plug-in, and will report your list of drivers. basic scan is free. but if you want some advanced then you need to be member of that i think. but it’s a good tool to use.
just check it out,

We have tested the driveragent tool after your recommendation. We found it good. But the trick is that it needs subscription in case you want to download the latest driver with its help. This can be done manually with some efforts, it will save you a few dollars!
Depends on individual choice!
Nice tips. I will come here more often to learn from you

To comment on Chaitanya, you can view all drivers from the command line. Click on start, then run. Type cmd and press enter, then type “driverquery” (without the quotes) and press enter. You can also view the list in a different format by using “driverquery /fo list” (without the quotes) and press enter. That will give you a list of all installed drivers on the system.
