One of our readers asked a question to us “How can I convert a Microsoft Office PowerPoint Presentation to Microsoft Word Document File?”. This is a quite interesting question and can be very useful in distributing handouts or simply sharing the content of the PPT presentation in the form of a MS Word file.
In this tutorial, I will share with you very easy and simple steps to convert your PowerPoint Slide Show into a MS Word Document doc file.
Just follow these 3 simple steps:
1. Open the presentation with MS PowerPoint which you want to convert.
2. Click File > Share > Create Handouts > Create Handouts on Microsoft PowerPoint File menu page.
3. When you click Create Handouts above, you will get an options window “Send To Microsoft Word”, here you can select how it will actually show the slides and comments in the handout word file. Select the options which you like and click OK.
Here is how the PPT Slides looks like after converting to Microsoft Office Word Doc File. You can now save and share this file or print it as you need it.

What do you do if your version of PowerPoint 2010 does not have the “Share” option in the “File” menu?
1. click the microsoft office button
2. Select Publish Option
3. Choose the option ‘Handouts in Microsoft Office word ‘
and continue the above procedure. You can complete the rest.

@Jerry:
Like mine, yours might have a SAVE and SEND button.
Click that, at the bottom – click CREATE HANDOUTS.
You can edit from there.
Hope that helps.
I can get only the first two slides in handout form, the rest of the presentation is missing. What am I doing wrong?
Hello, I have a power point presentation (about 50 slides) that I want to convert in word so I can edit it. I want it to be in an outline format. When I click outline format it opens a word document but it has only 3 pages and it’s empty. I tried other formats too but the results are the same. What am I doing wrong? Is the presentation protected ?
