Backup Utility v4 is a small freeware of 368 KB only. It is a portable tool. It will allow you to have a backup of all the data that you would never like to get deleted due to some problems in your system. It is very simple and easy to use it. You just have to download the utility and run it. The user interface is shown in the snapshot below.
The operating system, drive and user will be automatically updated by the tool. By default, the current user which is logged in will be entered. There are a list of the folders which you can backup. These folders are as follows:
- My Documents
- Mu Pictures
- My Music
- My Videos
- Outlook Ex
You may select all of them or only the important ones as per the requirement. Select the location for the backup. By default, it will enter the location where the tool has been saved. You can change it as per the requirement. After filling the specifications click on “Start”. The backup process will start and the utility will be present on the system tray.
The utility can be used for one process at a time. If you have to backup two folders separately, let the one get completed or it will be automatically paused. The tool will have the backup in the original formats. This makes comparatively larger disk space coverage than other tools which use the compressed formats.
The utility will be beneficial for the users who stores their data in C drive at specified locations. Because you can backup these locations only. You cannot add new folders for the backup.
The freeware has been tested with Windows 7, so it will be compatible with all the other versions also.
