Trouble:
Recently I noticed a small issue on my desktop after installing Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition that on windows startup C:\Program Files\Symantec folder opened automatically.
After encountering these problem I start getting annoyed to it, and google for the reason of opening C:\Program Files\Symantec folder on windows startup
After searching some time I came to know that this issue is caused due to invalid reference in registry for Symantec.
Let’s see how to fix this invalid registry reference in registry for Symantec.
Fix
In order to fix the invalid registry reference refer the procedure mentioned below
1. Open Start Menu >> Run, type regedit and press Enter
2. Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
3. On the right pane, double click vptray
4. Change the value from
C:\Program Files\Symantec Client\vptray.exe to “C:\Program Files\Symantec Client\vptray.exe”
5.Exit Registry and restart your computer.
