Customize Windows Context Menus

A context menu is a menu that appears upon user interaction, such as a right click mouse operation. A context menu offers a limited set of choices that are available in the current state of the operating system and it is difficult task to create a context menu. You need to edit the registry entries and this is quite difficult to do as this might mess up the whole registry. But with 7Cmenueditor, you can personalize your context menu (right click menu).

7CMenuEditor is a freeware and portable application that allows you to create any context menu with customized icons for applications as well as any URLs that you use mostly.



First of all, download 7CMenuEditor from the link provided at the end of the article. Then extract it. Make sure that DevComponents.DotNetBar2.dll file is in the same folder than 7CMenuEditor.INC 4.0.exe. Click on 7CMenuEditor.INC 4.0.exe to open it. You can create any context menu for exe file or URL. Enter the name of the application shortcut that you want to insert in the context menu. Then choose the location of the exe (or URL) by clicking on the Open Exe (or enter the URL address). After that choose the icon that you want it should be displayed and then click on the Create button. Now you will see that when you right click, new context menu will be there.


This application works perfectly on Windows XP, Windows vista,Windows 7, both 32 bit and 64 bit.
