Have you ever wondered how many pictures have you uploaded to Picasa web albums in the past? If you haven’t ever used Picasa, it is an online service from Google which lets you save and share your pictures and videos on Picasa servers. It comes with some free storage space and if you want to extend it, you may opt for paid options to get desired space to store your pictures online.
For those who are already using Picasa for sometime and have uploaded lots of pictures in various albums on Picasa, there are several options to download your pictures. Most common is to open the album and select download option from there. But if you have lots of albums and want to download all of them without the hassle of selecting each one of them, there is a convenient official way to do that too. This method I am going to share with you here will save lots of your time by letting you download all of your pictures in a much simpler way.
The process is much simpler than you might think. This process uses Google’s Takeaway service which is a part of their initiative to allow user to download all his content to his computer anytime he/she wants. This way the users don’t feel tied up forcefully to use a service because of the fear of loosing their content.
To download all pictures, videos and albums from Picasa, just follow these three simple steps:
Step 1: Sign into your Picasa web albums here – https://picasaweb.google.com. After signup, you will see your small thumbnail profile picture on the top right corner of the screen. Click on it and click Account.
Step 2: On the accounts Page, click on the link – “Data liberation” which will show you many options to download your personal data from Google. Click on “Download your Picasa Web Albums photos” options.
Step 3: After the above step, you will be asked to confirm your password by Google and then it takes you to a Takeaway service screen where you can see the size and number for files for download. You can simply click on Create archive and download all your Picasa pictures, videos and albums as a zip file in one go.
