Trouble:
Yesterday my friend came over to my place with his pen drive. He started copying some large files from my laptop to his pen drive. He picked some, started copying, picked another, started copying that too, and so on. He started 5 parallel copying operations on the same pen drive.
It gave estimated time remaining as 3 hours or so for 6 GB of data.
In this post we will tell you how to copy files fast from your pen drive.
Fix:
There are two ways in which you can speed up the files copying:
Maintain Only One Copying Stream At A Time
Start Copying one group of files by selecting them and then copy them at once. When that copying operation is finished, then start the other group. This gives the best speed.
Automate File Queuing Using Free Tera-Copy Utility
This utility will handle the copy operations very efficiently and will queue the copying operations and will allow only one stream to run at one time and will set the cache size also based on the need.
You can download this utility and feel free to copy and paste as many files at once, and they will transfer at the best possible rates.

I had written a copy-paste queuing tool sometime back to be used some time back. The highlights are that it allows copy from many and paste to many, even works across reboots, works on the command line and works in windows as well as linux. It is downloadable from here:
