by Abhishek Bhatnagar on April 25, 2012

Microsoft has launched the skydrive app for free, if you are not aware about the news yet you should read our article on the same. As announced by Microsoft new skydrive users will get 7GB free for all new SkyDrive users. You have the Ability to upload large files – up to 2GB – and folders using SkyDrive for the Windows desktop or SkyDrive for OS X Lion.

I have been using skydrive 25Gb free storage for more than a year, but recently when Microsoft announced skydrive app for windows, windows phone, iphone and ipad they decreased the default storage limit for all the old and new skydrive users to 7Gb usage limit only.

I logged into to with my live id to confirm the same and found out that my total free usage dropped to 7Gb was appearing as shock to me, then I find the hack to increase the free storage limit back to 25Gb for free on skydrive.

1. Go to and login in with your live Id

2. Once you are logged in, you will see the text link Sky Drive Free Storage Is Changing – claim your free storage 25Gb – click the link as shown in the image below.

So where is the hack?
The hack would be to get 25GB as new user… i.e. if you never used skydrive and do not have link to free upgrade to 25GB.
