When we think of a presentation, we feel Microsoft PowerPoint is the best option. But what if we want to record our presentation. Record what we are presenting and take the snapshots of your slides and then combine them. It becomes too tedious. Neither i would prefer to do that. To resolve the problem, I found RealShow to be a very good option.
RealShow is a freeware of 6.04 MB. The freeware is a wonderful utility to make the audio visual presentations. You can use both the slides and the video to present. The snapshot of the utility has been shown below.
The utility will make the presentations in the recorded formats. Click on Record to start the presentation and the things that will be displayed in the display part will be recorded as the presentation. You can select the pause button if someone interrupts in between. Click Stop after the completion of the recording. There can be four types of presentation formats that can be made with the help of the tool:
- Video only: It can be made by the option “Presenter” in the toolbar on top. Set the webcam and start recording.
- Slides only: Open any of the MS PowerPoint, you want to record. It supports all the formats; 2003,2007 and 2010. Generally preferred when the slides are self explanatory. Start recording and change the slides after the required duration of time.
- White Board: This is used if you have to explain some drawings and how they are made. Click on Board to open a White Board. There will be a toolbar in the left to ‘Paint’. You can draw and the steps will be recorded.
- Slides and Video: The option is used when you have to use the slides as well as explain them. There will be slides and what the presenter is presenting will be displayed in the top right corner.
You can save the recording in four formats: .wmv, .avi, .flv and .swf. So, save in the format as per the convenience. But if you want any format other than these, then you have to use the video format convertor.
The tool synchronizes with the webcam attached for the video recording. But if you have to change some settings you can easily do that. The camera settings can be selected from the options in the left as shown in the snapshot below. You may change the device. The different video formats can be selected. Select the properties defining the Video Proc Amp and the Camera Control.
So, RealShow can be used to present your topic even if you are far away from your destination. Just make the mix your presentation and the you as the presenter. And, send the recorded file. Isn’t it amazing and all your problems will be resolved very fast.
The tool has been verified with Windows 7, so it will be compatible with the other versions also.
