hi

i had tried all the options what you had suggested in the above passages, then also i am not able to view my hidden files. please can you help me out

mygif
Demar says, March 31st, 2008

OMG! Thank you so much guys! Followed the first suggestion and it worked… (i was sweating bullets going into the registry though, hate that place… XD).

I think i aquired a virus on my system, and i cleaned it all off…. Wat the virus seemed to do was to create an “autorun.inf” file on all my drives, and once i accessed them it would run. After scanning my pc with AVG (…. yes i use AVG…dont laugh >.<..) it got rid off the viruses… but i still couldnt access me hard drives normally.
I went in to safe mode, use cmd prompt and i veiwed the hidden “autorun.inf” on each drive and forced deleted them (type “help” and u’ll see how)… and after restarting i could access my drive normally…. now for my flash drive XP

I removed a trojan virus from my computer by kaspersky recently. After that many of my folders have become hidden. When I check show hidden Files and Folders and also I check show protected operating system files I become able to see all hidden folders!!!! How to fix this?

mygif
Rohit says, April 21st, 2008

@ ez

If you don’t wish to see the operating system files like System Volume Information , Recycled, etc.. then simply check the option to “Hide protected operating system files”.

Pema Marley says, May 18th, 2008

Hi buddy,

Sometimes back I have got a strange problem in my networked computers. Of course, there are all sorts of virus in my computers ranging from New Folder.exe to Amvo.Exe and so on. But this time unusual one is happening with my computer.

Whenever I create Folders by using File *** New *** Folder command. The folder property automatically changes to Application having .exe extension, whenever I hover the mouse over it.

All my photos and documents which are under it becomes unusable since I cannot see the particular folder in Adobe photoshop and others. It has got an icon exactly like the normal folder. Incase of New folder.exe, I know the icons are similar but still we can see the difference.

I kill the process named services.exe running under C:\documents & settings……. and the problem seems to go away.

Any further solution will be greatly appreciated. Thanks….

fix to amvo.exe and disabled taskmanager
amvo.exe
————

the problem is due to a worm .
open a new text document and paste the following
then rename the file as file.bat (the extension should be .bat)(make sure that tool>folder options>view>hide extentions for known file types is unchecked)
then execute that file after that
in no time restart your computer
