Hide Right Sidebar Ad In Hotmail Mail Interface

Hotmail is a such a great email services, recently after all those new features of hotmail launched it has become more useful. One of the annoyance which many users don’t like about hotmail is the vertical banner ad which appears on the right side of the mail interface.

But not everyone knows that hotmail allows you to hide this ad, so that it does not disturb you while you are reading a mail. Hotmail allows you to hide the vertical right banner as shown in the snapshot below.


You can easily remove or hide this right vertical banner ad by clicking the link the bottom of the ad saying close ad as shown in the image below.



Once you click the close ad link, right vertical banner will hide itself as shown in the image below.

But this method is not a permanent solution as each time you see the ad you will need to click the close ad link at the bottom of the ad, another way to remove the ad fore ever is to install a userscript in your browser but this will work with firefox or google chrome only.

You will need to install Windows Live Ad Remover Userscript. Chrome users can simply click the install button at the top of the page. Firefox users will need to install the Greasemonkey add-on first and Safari users need Greasekit.
