While surfing on internet, we come across many words which are unknown to us. For knowing their meaning, we search for that word in Google by either typing it in the search box or copy the word and paste it in the box.
Sometimes, this process of searching a particular word in a new window creates a problem in concentrating the original work. Also, it leads to wastage of time. So, many a times we avoid it and just leave that word as it is without knowing its meaning.
In solution to this problem, there is an extension of chrome called Highlight To Search which will help you know the meaning of any word faster.
Highlight To search allows you search keywords by highlighting instead of typing them in the search box. This will lead to faster searching and saving of time.
When you will install this extension, it will ask the access to all your browsing history and data on all websites. You just have to click ‘install’ and it will be installed in few seconds.
After installation of this extension, whenever you will come across a new word on a web page, you do not have to copy it to search in new window. You just have to highlight the word to be searched and click on the magnifying glass button which will appear at the bottom of the selected text.
After this, there will open a small list of similar keywords for making your search easy.
You just have to select the required keyword and then, a new window of Google search will open automatically where you will be presented a list of sites from where you can get to know about that word.
For exploring its options, you first have to go in the settings option in the toolbar of chrome then, click ‘Tools’ and then click ‘extensions’. Here, you will be shown a list of extensions installed in your chrome. Click on the ‘options’ of Highlight To Search extensions.
This will open a new window of options. Here, there will be three options:
1. Always open new tab to show search results (enabled by default)
2. Enable Highlight to Search in HTTPS page (disabled by default)
3. Show magnifying glass button below the selected text (enabled by default)
Just mark on the desired option you want to enable/disable accordingly.
