It worked at first. Thank you. Then Windows asked permission to download updates again. I allowed it but it turned out to be the
same updates. Now it keeps nagging to install the updates and I
can’t delete them anymore because Windows changed the location of the target file.

I’ve made a mistake. Sorry. I thought Windows had already sneaked in the updates elsewhere. When all along it was just asking to start downloading(not installing) the same.

I did this, and after stopping the updates service, the icon disappears from the system tray. After rebooting, or restarting the service, the icon reappears, and they are the same updates. If I check the Download folder in the %windir%\SoftwareDistribution directory, it’s empty. I don’t want the updates it is trying to install. One of them is the sp1 update for MSOffice, which I don’t use, and the other appears to be a tool for removing Paradox’s Vista Ultimate Crack.(or some other product activation bypass crack) I don’t have any cracks installed on my machine, but I still don’t want that update. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
