How To Setup, Configure Gmail IMAP Account In MS Outlook 2010

Setting up an IAMP or POP3 Account in Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express used to be a geeky task earlier when user had to manually put the POP3 Server Addresses, SMPT servers addresses and other preferences meticulously to make it work. But not anymore with Outlook 2010, its just a matter of less than a minute to set up Gmail IMAP account on your outlook now.

In this tutorial, I will explain three simple steps to configure GMAIL IMAP account.

Follow these simple steps to add GMAIL IMAP account to MS Outlook 2010:

1. Open Outlook 2010, go to File > Info > Accounts Settings >Account Settings. On Account Settings Window, click New.



2. On the New Account Setup Window, select the option which says “Microsoft Exchange,POP3 or IMAP ” and click Next.



3.  On Add New Account window, enter your Name, gmail id,password and click Next. Doing this, the Outlook will automatically detect the GMAIL server settings and will set up all the settings automatically by default.



This is it, it is really this simple, so just give it a try, I am sure you will find it easy and convenient. Below is how I see my Gmail Inbox in Outlook.
