It becomes really hard sometimes to arrange a Windows XP bootable CD when you can’t when you need it badly. The simple solution to the problem is to install recovery console on your Windows XP computer which will appear in the boot-up menu and lets you repair windows without Windows XP Bootable CD.
So its like being prepared for the worst in advance, so that if the Windows XP crashes, you need not rush to look for the boot-able Windows CD. Lets see how can you install Windows Recovery Console on Windows.
Fix:
In order to install recovery console on windows you will need Windows XP Bootable CD once and then follow the procedure below:
- Insert the Windows XP Bootable CD into CD-Rom drive
- Click on Start > Run
- Type “d:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons” where “d” is the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive.
- A Windows Setup Dialog will appear press Yes to confirm the installation.
- Restart your computer after installation, and the next time you restart your computer you will see Microsoft Windows Recovery Console in the startup boot menu.
