Install Windows Recovery Console For Use In Case Of Windows Crash

Did you ever run into the trouble of Windows XP computer was not booting up because of corrupted boot loader? Well how to fix it up, it can be fixed with the help of Windows Recovery Console which comes in Windows XP bootable CD. It is quite common problem that you don’t have the windows XP bootable CD when this kind of situation arise.



It becomes really hard sometimes to arrange a Windows XP bootable CD when you can’t when you need it badly.  The simple solution to the problem is to install recovery console on your Windows XP computer which will appear in the boot-up menu and lets you repair windows without Windows XP Bootable CD.



So its like being prepared for the worst in advance, so that if the Windows XP crashes, you need not rush to look for the boot-able Windows CD. Lets see how can you install Windows Recovery Console on Windows.


In order to install recovery console on windows you will need Windows XP Bootable CD once and then follow the procedure below:

  1. Insert the Windows XP Bootable CD into CD-Rom drive
  2. Click on Start > Run
  3. Type “d:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons”  where “d” is the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive. 
  4. A Windows Setup Dialog will appear press Yes to confirm the installation.
  5. Restart your computer after installation, and the next time you restart your computer you will see Microsoft Windows Recovery Console in the startup boot menu.

Nice way to prepare for the worst.But I don’t want the choice to be shown every time Windows boots up.

Data loss should not be there in case of boot loader recovery, but if the damage is more than that, there can be a data loss.
