by Rohit Khurana on September 12, 2011

If you have few number of ports on computer but large number of USB storage devices like pen drives or external hard-disks, then I am sure that you must be switching between those devices again and again and this surely consumes lots of time, as after clicking the icon on the taskbar tray you will have to wait for a while and then click on the media which is supposed to be securely ejected. This might have happened with you that some times after getting annoyed you must have removed those drives unsafely but let me tell you that there are many bad effects of doing so.

Your computer will take more time while reading the data from on external device and the writing speed for the USB drives will also be reduced. So to provide a better interface for ejecting the drives, we will review a tool with the help of which you will all the drives enlisted under an application window. If you want to eject any of the drives then you will just have to double click the icon in the window. We have mentioned the download link of this tool below, you will get the ZIP file for this tool, once you extract the files and then run the exe file, then it will open the application window and you will see all the drives icon in the window.

You can eject any of then safely by either double clicking any of the icon, or simply selecting them and then pressing enter. This tool does not provide any other option for the drive, it will also detect your MP3 players if they have been attached and more over it also scan your mobile phones attached to the computer. This tool will offer you a simple interface to remove the drives safely and quickly. You can see the screenshot of the same mentioned at the top of the post. The size of this tool is around 500 KB and it has been used on Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate edition, so please let us know if you face any problem while using it.

Wow! It works, sometimes the eject icon on my computer was not responding and I ended up just pulling the drive out. I crushed several drives before I got this amazing tool!!!
