Sometimes when you use different media players to listen to songs then one thing that bothers you the most is the the shortcut keys that are different for different media players. You must be wondering why can’t you use the same set of keys for all the media players that are available out there. But today I have got an application named MPH(Media Player Hotkeys) which will help you to configure the hotkeys for 21 different media players. Configuring the hotkeys means that you will able to use the media player even if the media player window is not an active window and you are working on something else which means you don’t have to bring the media player window up again just to change songs or pause them.
Some media players have support for the global hotkeys whereas some of them support the media keys that come inbuilt in some keyboards. The software supports 21 different players i.e. 1×1, AIMP, AIMP3, ALPlayer, ALSong, Billy, CoolPlayer, Foobar2000 WA, Foobar2000, KMPlayer, Light Alloy, Media Player Classic, PotPlayer, Quintessential Media Player, Screamer Radio, STP, Spider Player, Trout, VLC, Winamp, and Windows Media Player.
This is the first window that will open when you will run the software for the first time after downloading and installing it. The software doesn’t require installation and will run directly from the exe file which you will get after extracting the ZIP file. The software has four tabs i.e. Hotkeys, Players, Options and Help. The Hotkeys Tab will give you an option to Add an Hot key for any action like PlayPause, Play, Pause, Stop, Previous, Next, Volume up, Volume down, Volume mute, Show /hide player, Show popup menu.
The above window will open when you will click on the Add Hotkey button. The window will give you the option to select any combination of keys for the Hotkey. The Edit hotkey option will give you an option to Edit the hotkey combination and open the same window to edit the combination of hot key. Delete hotkey option will give you an option to delete the selected hotkey.
The second tab is the Players tab which will show you the list of all the supported players their official websites and also some notes about all the players and about the various commands they support.
The third tab is the options tab. It has five options Start with Windows, Start minimized, Minimize to tray, Close to tray and Popup menu icon size. First four option are unchecked by default they can be selected by selecting the checkbox in front of them depending on the requirement. The popup menu icon size has a drop down which has five sizes. We can adjust the icon size and then test the size using the Test button which will show us the size of the menu that we have selected.
