Have you wanted to an all in one Bootable USB or CD which has all the bootable tools, antivirus softwares, recovery tools, partition manager softwares, disk checking utilities etc. all bundles in just one CD / USB ? If you ask this question to me, I would say why not ! Its so much better than having a bundle of CDs or USB drives. In this article, I will review a small freeware utility called the Xboot which allows you to crease a menu driven bootable CD or USB in which you can put any number of ISO images to boot from.

Bootable CDs/ USB Pen drives are very helpful to boot your computer and do some repair, recovery or maintenance task when your computer is not working. For example, you can fix virus in a computer using a bootable antivirus disk in case you are not able to install antivirus on the PC. Or you can run a disk scan or RAM test when your computer is becoming unstable, to diagnose and fix RAM or Hard Disk Problems. You can also put a bootable Linux version on the pen drive for copying important data from a computer in which OS might have crashed. Or you can reset Windows Password using Password reset disk.

Using this tool is extremely simple, just run the Xboot, Drag and drop the ISO files you want in the resulting multiport USB or CD.

It will show you the size of the resulting disk image. Now you can click create USB or Create ISO button(for CD/DVD image). If you select USB, then give the USB path and click OK, else just allow the tool to save ISO and burn this ISO on to a CD/DVD to make it a bootable CD/DVD.

Xboot will copy the images to the resulting boot image and will complete the process within seconds.

This is how it looks when I booted using the ISO image I created with a Windows Password reset disk and Antivirus bootable Image.

Below is the snapshot of Kaspersky Antivirus boot CD booted from the multiboot ISO image created using Xboot. You don’t need to be a geek with terminal commands to use this utility, its very easy to use.
