Trouble:
Few days back, when I configured Gtalk on my new laptop, I could not chat via Gtalk because the microphone was not working. We have written vista microphone problem some time back, but this problem is focussed on Gtalk voice chat. This problem can be checked by looking at the microphone status bar as you speak. See the snapshot below:
The bar did not move even on speaking loud into the microphone. In this post I will share the fix of this problem with you.
Fix:
For this, click on the settings link on the top right of Gtalk Window as below:
This will open up a settings window as shown below, on right hand side, click on Audio, this will show you Input – microphone or headset options . Under this drop-down menu, select the mic you are using. If you are not sure, which mic you are using, change them one by one and check if it starts to work, by seeing the progress bar.
Similarly there is option to change the output – headset or speakers options. Set the correct output and press Ok.
After this settings, my voice chatting worked absolutely fine.

plz im desperate my mic is not working with gtalk i tried ur way but its not working i unistalled relatek high definition and i dont know how to install it again or from where to install it.i tried soo many things that im lost plz can anyone help????thx lols
