Comments on: Microphone (mic) does not work with windows vista

dear friends

while i am using gtalk or voip,and other voice chating programme, my mic volume is going down and after it will be zero, the other party cant hear me .i am using WINDOWS XP .prsently solving i am opening realtech HD manager and click the volumn controle on top volume always. this is not eazy task . but i dont have any other way. if u know how to solve this problem please post or write me on

i have a laptop Fujitsu with a built in speaker and camera and mic,the problem is that,it doesnt work,some time ago i recored stuff with my camera and mic,the sound worked for some reason it stopped working,windows said it detected it and stuff,its there in the webcan program t said it was there!OMG now when i record NO ADIO its not muted its just ……normal please respond!

I do have Windows Xp and I have been trying to get a mic to work to talk on the internet and I have adjusted the mic in the Control Panel and under Sounds and Speech and it still doen’t work. Can you help me on this?

What i found out regarding the microphone not showing at all in devices when plugging it in,

I took properties on playback devices if i write that correct now

and then Volumes or what it is in english, there at least my back mic plug Rear Pink in was muted, took that off and then it got detected after dragging the mic out and into the plug hole

hope this is a solution for some

Oops, forgot to mention…

I am unable to use Logitech WebCam IM or Logitech ClearChat headset. Both are unable to detect any sound from their mics.

I tried the Logitech site, but they’re still scratching their heads on this issue and have no answers.

After this go to control panel > sound and audio device settings. Check whether the microphone is detected by Vista or not. If not, check whether you have selected the frontal microphone or rear, as vista recognizes them separately unlike windows Xp. Correct the configuration of front/rear mic if needed.

HOW do you configure front/rear mic jacks ?

Is my system disabled somehow, as it shows no icon for ‘Microphone’, only ‘Digital Input Device (SPDIF) ?

I set it to show Disabled/Disconnected devices, but I can only see the icon for SPDIF ( a box)…
