my toshiba vista just got upgraded to windows 7 but when i went on yahoo i could not call my friends using my corded microphone. when i went to click on sounds notheing came up please help me

Check closely if the wires inside the cabinet which connects the front panel to the motherborad are connected or not. Also try look for settings in the sound drivers software regarding the same. unfortunately the interface of different drivers is quite different from each other, so can’t guide you exactly what options to check. On an approximate note, look for an option like “Enable / Disable Frontal Mic Detection”, try to tun on/off this option and see whether it works for you?

ok I reformatted my computer because I had done that before and installed the driver for my soundcard and it worked. This gets time consuming doing it every two months.

My computer tells me there is no jack information availible. I have downloaded the driver from an updated source but my computer is not recognizing I have an input jack. Please help I am going nuts. And per your answer up there I could not find a box that you could check front or rear. I am assuming it is because my computer is not recognizing I have jacks at all?

My speakers work fine no worries there but no matter how hard I try I have no mic.

i have windows vista. we bought a usb mic and pugged it in. the microphon works fine…the problem is that when it is pluged in the audio doesnt work. how can i get the sound to work such as playin music and having the mic plugged in at the same time? does any1 have a solution to this problem

while i am using gtalk or voip,and other voice chating programme, my mic volume is going down and after it will be zero, the other party cant hear me .i am using WINDOWS XP .prsently solving i am opening realtech HD manager and click the volumn controle on top volume always. this is not eazy task . but i dont have any other way. if u know how to solve this problem please post or write me on

i have a laptop Fujitsu with a built in speaker and camera and mic,the problem is that,it doesnt work,some time ago i recored stuff with my camera and mic,the sound worked for some reason it stopped working,windows said it detected it and stuff,its there in the webcan program t said it was there!OMG now when i record NO ADIO its not muted its just ……normal please respond!

I do have Windows Xp and I have been trying to get a mic to work to talk on the internet and I have adjusted the mic in the Control Panel and under Sounds and Speech and it still doen’t work. Can you help me on this?

What i found out regarding the microphone not showing at all in devices when plugging it in,

I took properties on playback devices if i write that correct now

and then Volumes or what it is in english, there at least my back mic plug Rear Pink in was muted, took that off and then it got detected after dragging the mic out and into the plug hole

hope this is a solution for some
