Microphone problems with Vista. I could not get my head set mic to be detected,in the front or rear microphone jacks, downloaded new drivers, checked everything and finally got it going by using an USB adapter(connects the two 1/8 plugs to one USB port), same headset that could not be detected now works just fine

My OS is Windows Vista. I get a message ” no audio device is
installed “. The microphone is not working. I listen the voice from other side. Please resolve this.

I have the same problem–Vista refuses the believe a microphone is plugged in (it is). I uninstalled the old sound driver (realtek) and downloaded the new version, for Vista, installed and restarted. no change.

I have a slightly differnt problem. My microphone works but only when i use voice chat like skype. If i play a game and i am on Vent it gives nothing but horrable feed back!

It worked fine on XP but not vista ultimate 64 bit. I have updated everything and i am still unsure of what to do.. if any of you have an idea e-mail me at anmonte2001@yahoo.com

i have the same problem. i’ve been trying everything for 3 days now but NOTHING!

i have two mic’s plugged, one in the front, one in the rear and Microsoft vista does not recognize any of them as installed. i’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the realtek/manufacture drivers countless times but Microsoft HD audio keeps installing itself automatically and of course no mic is detected. speakers work fine.

HELP!!

Ok, so my computer (Vista) will detect my microphone but it says it is muted. I have tried everything I can think of to un-mute it! What is going on?? Skype tells me the same thing - that my mike is muted. Any suggestions? By the way, I got skype to work for one phone call, so I know that it was operating properly at one point.

Thanks!
