Microphone Volume Low or Mic Not Working in windows

My Microphone is still not working.
And also i am able to hear sound only from the front port
I use Sigma Tel audio.

I have just installed XP Black V6 and now my mic is very. I have gone into setting and turned it up full. However I am unable to acces “advanced controls” so cannot enable mic boost…

Any ideas?

I have Yahoo Messenger Voice Chat Problem. I can hear voice of my fried but he cant mine. I think my Microphone Does Not Work With Yahoo Messenger. I have done Call Setup For Yahoo Messengerjust. I did all the instructions from your side and I even re-install the driver installed in my laptop but it seems that it is not working at all. Moreover, I tried my microphone not only in YM but also in Skype but still same problem occur. Please help on this issue, what seems the problem???
The problem is that I can able to hear the person who I am talking with but he can’t hear me…

Hii.. My problem is :
When i connect the microphone to my computer, uncheck the “Mute” option beside “Microphone” in volume controls, no sound ( hissing or whatever ) comes from the speakers. The “microphone boosts” ( 1 or 2 ) are checked coorectly.. However, the sound recording function works properly..

P.S. Earlier i had SoundMax Audio Drivers and all was fine, Now i have Realtek.. Please suggest a solution..

I am using a microphone for on Windows Mobile Emulator.
It was working fine few days ago. But currently it is giving lots of noise. Microphone is working correctly with Sound Recorder.
I am not sure what the problem is…
Can anyone give any idea……

I am using an imported microphone in my TOSHIBA laptop set.It was working well,But all on a sudden while on vedio chat my microphone is defunged.Its hearing unit is working allright, but mice is not working. I have tried all the instructions given in this website to rectify the microphone but failed. I have checked the continuity of the mic adaptor, it is found to be O.K.

Please give me the guide line what to do, and how can I activate my microphone.

this might mean that your mic has gone bad, try using ti on some other computer, if it doesn’t work there too, get it replaced.

As per your instruction I have tried out with a new microphone set, still it is not working. I can hear my partner”s voice but he can”t. I have tried all the instruction given in this web site but still it is not acting.

A caption comes on the window as:

RUNDLL
” Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\Nvcpl.dll.
A dynamic link library {DLL} initialization routine failed.

Is this caption can make any harm in my microphone?
Please give me your valuable advice in rectifying the microphone.

In my PC, sound output is OK, but sound input is not done. I check my all setting is OK. I can not recording in microphone or any other device like tape, walkman etc. After conect mic with PC i hear my sound directly in speaker, but not recording. Recording bar is not shown any progress. I have windows xp. please suggest me how can i record my voice or any input sound.

HI, My problem seems to be abit different. First off when i test my microphone I get a message saying network device not detected, then I get dvp setup blah blah use add remove programs. I have latest updates for my audio devices. I also noticed that my advance tab isnt highlighted.

any fixes to my problem.

and yes it is plugged into the correct port and my jack sensing detects the mic.

Guys it seems that you port is not working
search for some usb pin connector that will work i guess
this is not a problem with the headset or mic but with ur port
ur hardware might be very old and this is the first time i guess ur trying the mic on it

Ok yalls I had the same problem with skype, and I finally got it working… When I went in to teh area that has ‘Mic boost’ I had an option to select ‘alternate mic’ after I enabled that and disabled mic boost. Also if you get a ton I feedback, reduce the volume, I’m at about a third and my dad is Israel can here me fine.

Uhh hi i have a HP computer and my microphone wasnt working so i went into sound and disabled internal, and external mic options and i was going to reenable them but they disapeared and i cant find them at all anyway i checked my device manager, computer, program files, and program files (x86)

my friends cant hear me

I have this hp pavillion dv 5266 ca notebook with no internal mic or webcam. I am trying to connect an ext. webcam with mic ,but without success. I even tried to connect only an ext. microphone (which is guranteed working in every other notebook)but without success. The problem is everything works once and next moment it is not working. I changed the drivers also but no success. I noticed that double clicking on speaker icons and clicking on options and further trying to go into properties and advanced controls the advanced control area is shaded and does not let me chane the advaced properties. I am stuck can you tell me what could be the problem and how can I resolve it. Thanks.
