I have a logitech multimedia keyboard and I like to control Winamp with the Stop, Play, Pause, Forward, Backward keys on my multimedia keyboard to control Winamp. When I bough this keyboard, the multimedia keys were not working to control the Winamp Application.
My laptop also has multimedia keys on its Keyboard, it also did not work initially. Winamp is a popular Media player and I have been using it for years for playing audio / MP3 files. In this article I will tell you a really simple and easy to change setting to use your multimedia keyboard with Winamp. This tip also enables the multimedia keys on laptop, sometimes the touch keys on the laptop to work properly with Winamp Media Player.
Just open Winamp, click on Options > Preferences
This will launch Winamp Preferences Window
On Winamp Preferences window, click on the Global Hotkeys option on the left hand side panel. On the right hand side, check the two check-boxes which say “Enable Default multimedia key support” and “Enabled”
Just close the preference Window after that. Close Winamp and launch again, Winamp will now work with multimedia keyboard and laptop multimedia keys properly.
