Not able to run or open any asp.net web applications in visual studio

Trouble:

One of our readers got a problem when she tried to create or run new asp.net applications in visual studio after a fresh install of visual studio 2005. She got the error message saying “Visual Studio .Net has detected that the specified web server is not running ASP .NET version 1.1″ and it stops.

This problem mainly occurs when asp.net 1.0 overwrites asp.net 1.1 version framework on your system. Don’t worry as you can easily fix this trouble with some sets of commands.

Fix:

You need to reinstall asp.net 1.1 on your system. You can do it with some simple commands given below.

The sets of commands given below reinstall and reset the IIS web server on your windows system.

Re-install asp.net framework 1.1

1. Open Start>>run and type cmd and press Enter

2. type cd Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322
3. type aspnet_regiis -i
4. type aspnet_regiis -c
