Microsoft has previously announced an Automated Troubleshooting Tool which was an online scanning tool and was not available for Windows 7, its a good tool for Windows troubleshooting.

Improving further on the same, Microsoft has now launched Microsoft Fixit Center, its still in Beta, but worked nicely while I tested it.

This tools is an Executable tool which scans most common problems on Windows computer, diagnoses them, finds the root cause and tries to fix them for you by running the automated repaired built into the tool. In this article I will do a complete review of Official Fixit Online Tool by Microsoft.

You can download and install it on your windows computer, the tools is compatible with Windows XP Pro SP2, Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 etc. The web installer that you download with further download some part of the tool while installing it on your windows computer. run-windows-7 homegroup scan using fixit

To test the tool, I tested the HomeGroup troubleshooting on my Windows 7 PC. Press the Run button to run any particular automatic troubleshooting in the Fixit Window.

It gives you an Automated method, in which it applies the fix itself or the manual way in which it allows you to select the fix. I selected the latter method as I am curious to see what it turns out to be.

It detected my HomeGroup for few seconds and then gave me an options to Troubleshoot or skip. I selected to troubleshoot.

It will the scan the HomeGroup and locate the cause of problems and will give you options to fix them.

After its done processing, it asks you to check and select whether the problem has been resolved or not.

At the end of fixing, it will show you the summary of the changes it has applied on your computer.

It also asks for feedback from the user which is helping them to further stabilize and improve the  FixIt tool.

I found it pretty interesting and useful for the people who don’t find it comfortable to manually troubleshoot problems with their computer. You can also use the tool by downloading from below
