Reader’s Contest - TroubleFixer of The Week - Date Time Reset Problem

Hello readers, we have been thinking of increasing reader’s participation in TroubleFixers.com for a long time.

 

Thinking of which, we came up with the idea of the Contest for readers. This is the first part of the sequence of TroubleFixers Of The Week Reader’s Contest.

 

Rules:

1. In this contest we will share one computer trouble through the post and we will ask the readers for the fix to the trouble.

2. Readers will send the fix through comment to the contest post.

 

We will moderate the comments and the best fix will be featured in the contest post as the best fix. The reader who provides the fix will be the TroubleFixer of the week. We shall acknowledge the reader through the contest post and will give his/her web-site or blog a link from the contest post. In case of multiple correct entries, the first come first serve system will be applied.

 

Contest trouble of the week :

 

 

Date and time of the computer resets to a certain date on its own. What could be the reason of this, how to fix this issue?

Fix:

 

In most of the cases the main reason behind the date time reset problem occurs due to weak CMOS battery on the motherboard. So, you just need to change your CMOS battery on your motherboard to resolve this problem.

 

So all those who have given the right answers are Deyaa Addeen Fahmy Shedeed, Dinesh, Anil,

sharjeel, anup anand, shashi are troublefixers of the week.

Logon BIOS and fix the date.

Here are the steps…….

1. Double click the time on your taskbar (bottom right side) to open the “Date and Time Properties.”

2. There are 3 tabs : ‘Date & Time’, ‘Time Zone’ and ‘Internet Time.’
Under “Date & Time” tab, set the date and time as you want.

3. Click the third tab “Internet Time.”
Uncheck the mark in front of “Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server.”

Your problem may be solved….

4. (Optional)
If possible, go to second tab “Time Zone”, and scroll up and set your Time zone to “(GMT -08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana” which might be the fifth option.

Now the problem will be solved.

First Try to change date in Bios.
If this fails then change the CMOS Battery.
This will definately Fix the Date & Time Problem.
COMS Battery comes for 15 to 20 Rs.

ya only the changing battery of CMOS can
fix this problem permanently.
Dinesh is absolutely right.
b’cause every time u start your system
the date and time are incorrect.
this is b’cause of weak battery of CMOS
so, change the battery and
fix the problem

As Iam amateur in problems related to computer for this problem i think this the problem of BIOS Battery, replace it and this problem will be solved.

I know the above solution has already been posted by my friends. But this is to emphasis the possible solution of this problem.

There may be following possibilities for this problem:

1)The CMOS battery may be down:
RESOLVE:change the battery in the cpu cabinet.

2)RAM must be inserted improperly or in wrong slot.
RESOLVE:Try changing the RAM to another slot properly.
