Microsoft Office Outlook is definitely one of the most commonly used tools for accessing your e-mail account. Once configured, it will allow the user to read, compose and to save mails along with many features and functionalities. Although, this smart and useful tool is quite stable but we cannot say that it is perfect. This is because; if the PST file linked with the Outlook becomes corrupt then you need to repair it for using the Outlook. Although there are many tools which are available to repair PST files, but we advise you to use a pretty simple and small tool which is Inbox Repair Tool and it has been build in Office 2010. The Inbox Repair tool which can also be seen as Scanpst.exe, and as mentioned above it is basically designed to help repair problems that are associated with personal folder (.pst) files. This tool is already present in your system if you are using the Microsoft Office 2010 and it is located in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 folder and can be found easily. To locate the folder and the file in it, one may simply search for a file named Scanpst.exe inside the above mentioned folder and simply need to double click in order to run it.
After clicking it, you may observe that a new small window will be opened and in this repair tool, it will ask you to select the Outlook PST file for which repair is needed and then you need to quit the Outlook before you start the repair with this tool. After this, you may see that the tool will scan your PST files for any issues and lists them out, if there are any.
Once all the issues are listed, you can then perform a repair for those PST files.
