Is it actually possible to recover data from Flash drives?

Recovering from a hard disk is different from that from a pen drive. I tried recovering data from memory cards and pen drives, but I was never able to detect any files.

Hard disks work perfectly.

Thanks for those great url’s, I had to recover data late last year and used a small program on a disk called “Hirem’s Boot Disk”, It was very effective, not sure where to get it from though as a friend gave me his disk.

My flash thumb drive recently spontaneously corrupted leaving the pen drive to show up as “RAW” and inaccessible to windows. Recuva was the only recovery app (incl Pandora and PC Inspector Recovery)that managed to both look into the drive and recover about 90% of the contents. Definitely worth adding to anyone’s suite of recovery apps.
