Most of the Windows PC users who have been using their computer for over an year or so complain that their computer does not perform as good as it used to when it was new. The most common reason for it the large number of startup program entries which get lined up when you install something new on your computer.
Accumulation of startup entries not only slows down the computer, but also leaves it at risk of executing malicious codes, malwares and computer viruses at startup. We have already covered some useful and exhaustive tutorials and tools listed below :
In this article I am going to review another tool, which is very simple and light weight. This tool is called – Startup Guard. It helps you to maintain a list of startup processes and review it from time to time to see what all has been added. You can restrict or remove startup entries from the Windows Startup tasks list.
You can also check file properties online if you are not able to make up your mind about keeping or removing a particular item from the startup list. You can manually maintain lists and see which processes are added. This also helps you to keep the PC secure in case some malicious code is getting added to the computer at the startup.
Personally, I like this program, but I like Soluto better, but it is much more bulky and now an invite only software as compared to the freeware Startup Guard which does the duty with a much simpler way.
