Remove Junk Files To Speed Up Your Computer

by Rohit Khurana on September 30, 2010

There are many reasons which leads to the slow down of our system. It may be due to the unwanted junk files or startup tasks or others. For the solution of this, you might use different tools for cleaning unwanted files like CCleaner, PureRa, Cyber D’s Autodelete or DiskMax. But these tools will not solve the purpose. You have to use other tools for startup manager, process manager along with it.

So, instead of using different tools for achieving speed for your system, you can use a freeware called System Ninja which is a complete package of powerful file cleaner, startup manager, process manager and several useful tools which will help in speeding up your system performance.

System Ninja v1.5 is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP and requires .NET framework 3.5 for its working. It doesn’t need installation instead works as an exe application.

When you will start the application, you first have to select ‘Scan Drive’. It will show all the junk files and folders in few minutes. In the scanning process, you can select the type of files from the list of options present at the right side of main window.

From all these files, you have the option of deleting either the selected ones by using ‘Clear selected’ or all of them by using ‘Check all’.

In the ‘Startup Manager’ tab, you will get a list of startup items and tasks which if you think are hindering the startup speed of system can be removed using ‘Remove Selected’ option. This option supports Run, RunOnce and Sheduled Tasks files and registry keys.

In the ‘Process Manager’ tab, you can quickly end several processes without even running the Task Manager. It also highlights processes that are commonly associated with Viruses or Spyware automatically.

It also provides two tools in the ‘More Tools’ tab. First is the ‘Folder Junk Cleaner’. It will scan junk files in a desired folder which should be deleted for saving the hard drive space for speeding up the system. The junk files include:

1. Windows Temporary Files.

2. .tmp files, in all directories

3. Thumbs.db files, and other thumbnail caches.

4. Mac icon files, which are unsupported by Windows.

5. Game caches, increase the speed of your PC games. Currently supports only The Sims 2 & The Sims 3.

6. Windows Logs

7. Common Torrent Tags (Those annoying little .txt files that come with many torrents.)

8. Recent files

The ‘File Analzr’ tool is used for collection of useful information about any file like the MD5, SHA1 & SHA256 hashes of that file. It also reads file size, access dates and links with web services to determine if the file contains a virus.

You can select ‘’ option in the ‘virus analyis’ which will open a website where your selected file will be checked for virus. It can detect over 75 of the most common malicious processes.

In short, it is a smart pack of tools for speeding up your system.
