Facebook has introduces a feature called App Password long time back but most Facebook users have never used it. If you are one of the security freaks and want to secure your Facebook account and don’t want Facebook Apps and other 3rd party apps to create security threat to your Facebook account, you will find this feature very useful. I have personally tried to avoid using Facebook Apps because the security vulnerabilities just freak me out. But with this feature, I can log into Facebook Apps by using an app password and not the Facebook password and this helps me feel more secure and helps me protect me privacy better. In this article, I will share a step-by-step guide on how you can create an App password for Facebook Apps which you use. Simply follow the below steps:
Step 1: Log into your Facebook account and click on the small arrow on the right hand side of the Home button and click on account settings.

Step 2: In account settings, click on the security tab to open security settings.

Step 3: Under Security settings, click on App Passwords option.

Step 4: If you have never used this feature, click on Generate app passwords link.

Step 5: Click on the Generate App Passwords button to continue.

Step 6: Enter your Facebook password to proceed with the process.

Step 7: Enter the name of the App for which you want to generate password. You have to do this one by one for each App which you use. After entering the app name, click on the button Generate Password.

This is it, Facebook will not show the newly generated App password which you can use to login in that App.

You can also check out your previous passwords under the App passwords section.
