Some of the readers faced this problem when suddenly they see the following warning popping out of the windows taskbar in windows which says Consider Replacing Your Battery – Normally this notification will only appear in windows 7 or 8 as earlier versions of Windows can’t notify you when your battery is going bad.

Fix Consider Replacing Your Laptop Battery

Let me tell you why does this notification might appear

Most of the Laptop batteries have different capacities which tells the amount of charge that can hold, but with time this capacity decreases as is the case for all rechargeable batteries. This means that even though you’re fully charging your battery, the actual amount of power that the battery can hold is going down then windows will display this warning.

Please Note: You can find information about the capacity of your laptop battery by looking at the information printed on the battery, or reading the information that came with the laptop or battery in the user manuals.

When Do You See This Warning and How To Turn It Off

If you’ve recently upgraded to Windows 7 and are receiving this notification, it probably means that you need to replace your battery. If you don’t want to receive this notification, you can turn it off by clearing the check box on the battery meter which says Warn me if my battery may need replacement as you see in the snapshot above.

What Caused This Warning To Appear

This may happen to old laptops whose battery gets degraded with time over the years of usage in case it is happening to a new laptop then the manufacturer of the battery is responsible for the condition and quality of the battery. Batteries do sometimes fail, so it’s a good idea to only buy batteries that come with a warranty.

Please Note: The battery meter in Windows might become less accurate as the battery begins to hold less capacity. There many angry customers who reported this happening on their laptop so if this warning is appearing, it may not be entirely 100% correct all the time.
