We have reviewed some of samsung mobile phones recently on out gadget blog www.getmeapp.com you can read the reviews here. One of the most common thing we have found in the android phones from samsung is that in some of the phones you might see the no signal or no network some times, it happens when there is low signal strength and the phone goes to airplane or offline mode automatically.

Normally, when the signal restores the phone should automatically show the network signal bars at the top right corner of the screen. Just in case if it does not then you can follow the procedure below by toggling the flight mode on the phone and then search for network manually and then select the network on the phone.

Just when you see no signal on your phone, go to Settings >> Wireless & Mobile Networks and Toggle airplane on and then put it to off.

Once you put the airplane mode to off, the phone should now catch the network signal it still it does not then go to Mobile Networks and search for network operator manually.

and then select your operator from the list.

The problem should be solved by following the procedure below, if still it does not leave a comment below and try to contact samsung care if the phone is in warranty.

I get a signal again when I do a “Restart”. This happens everytime I drive thru certain parts of our valley (Palmdale, CA), where there are spotty signals. Never had this problem with my HTC Droid Eris.
BUT, where I live is a very poor signal (Littlerock Dam) and I can drive into town and automatically re-acquire a signal with no issues. I only lose signal and cannot re-acquire it after driving thru certain parts of the Antelope Valley.

I have samsung galaxy y and another brand of celfun placed side by side in a place where signal is too weak. Frustratingly my other phone receives signal from the network while my samsung galaxy y does not in the same network. is there a way to increase the sensitivity of this unit?

these are great band-aid fixes, but I have the problem of re-occurrence as well. I would like to know what the warranty service would do? are these faulty parts? my device is out of warranty so this is disappointing

mark December 7, 2012 at 4:14 pm

found a network but not registered. tsk

Winston January 26, 2013 at 4:46 pm

I’m experiencing the same problem: I get the exclamation mark on top saying I was disconnected from the network. I’m going to try what you’re suggesting here. But I’m wondering if this is really a manufacturing glitch or a glitch that started to appear after we’ve dropped our phones a few times. Case I did.
