Most of the time the solution to these problems is very easy and it can be dealt with a little research, so here we are with a probable solution that will take care of this problem which is faced whenever you startup one of these applications.
One of the reasons for this problem can be that Windows event log service is not running and here is what you need to so to fix that up.
- To enable the service Right click on Computer>Manage>Services & applications>services.
- Again right click on Windows Event Log Service>Properties
- Ensure that Startup Type is set on Automatic and the services is Started and that it runs in the Local Service Account.
- Also ensure that all three drop down boxes in the Recovery tab are set to Restart the Service in case of failure.
If the event log still does not start and you get the error : System cannot find the file specified
Open the folder C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs This folder contains logs in .evtx format and you can view them with the event viewer. Give this folder read – write access and that should help solve the problem.
