<p>Almost all of the modern computers have some fancy graphics care, some with dedicated graphics memory, and some share the memory from computer’s&#160; RAM. Graphics cards are prone to faults, especially for gamers who over-clock the GPU and CPU for high end Gaming. </p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>We recommend to check for the cooling arrangements for a gaming PC, you can read this article on <a href="http://www.troublefixers.com/does-your-computer-hangs-frequently-fix-it-in-two-easy-steps/">Computer Hangs Due To Over-heating</a> or sometimes it may cause <a href="http://www.troublefixers.com/computer-restarts-without-any-reason/">Computer Restart Due to Over-heating</a> .</p>

<p>&#160;</p>
<p>In this post, we are going to cover some free tools with which you can check the details and health of your computer’s Graphics card.</p>
<p> <span id="more-435"></span>
<p><strong>Fix:</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong></p>
<h2>GPUZ – Free Graphics Information Tool</h2>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>GPUZ is a tool with which you can check the information and status of your computer’s graphics card. You can <a href="http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1304o/GPU-Z.0.3.1.exe">download GPUZ here</a>, and simply run the downloaded file, it will give you all relevant information and statistics of your graphics card. Just like the info you can see below:</p>

<p><a href="http://www.troublefixers.com/wp-content/uploads/images/DiagnoseFaultyGraphicCardFreeUtilityToTe_CA70/gpuzscreenshot.jpg"><img title="gpuz-screenshot" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="443" alt="gpuz-screenshot" src="http://www.troublefixers.com/wp-content/uploads/images/DiagnoseFaultyGraphicCardFreeUtilityToTe_CA70/gpuzscreenshot_thumb.jpg" width="379" border="0" /></a></p>
<blockquote></blockquote>
<p>You can also see the GPU Clock and Default clock, which tells you whether the graphics card is working in normal or over-clocked mode.</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<h2>DirectX Diagnostic Window</h2>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>There is an in-built Diagnostic Window of DirectX installed along with DirectX. You can easily launch this by going to <strong>Start &gt; Run, </strong>type <strong>“dxdiag”, </strong>and press enter.</p>
<p>This will launch a diagnostic windows like one below:</p>

<p>&#160;</p>
<h2><b>Rthdribl</b> – Graphic Card Benchmark Program</h2>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/">RTHDRIBL</a> – Stands for “Real-time High Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting” has a demo version which is a Pixel shredding utility based on DirectX. You can <a href="http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip">download rthdribl here</a> and run the same and it will run some real high definition graphics and will show the FPS (frames per seconds) rates etc, which will give you a fair idea of how the graphics card is performing.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.troublefixers.com/wp-content/uploads/images/DiagnoseFaultyGraphicCardFreeUtilityToTe_CA70/pixelshredder.jpg"><img title="pixel-shredder" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="227" alt="pixel-shredder" src="http://www.troublefixers.com/wp-content/uploads/images/DiagnoseFaultyGraphicCardFreeUtilityToTe_CA70/pixelshredder_thumb.jpg" width="379" border="0" /></a> </p>
