One of our readers Sameer submitted a problem saying: “When I switch on my computer , it shows a error dmi event log space full press f1 to continue or f2 to enter setup.”

Let us see why this trouble occurs and what is DMI.

What is DMI logs?

DMI stands for Desktop Management Interface. It generates a standard framework for managing and tracking components in a desktop, notebook or server computer. It is implemented by the BIOS of computer. BIOS provides an option of maintaining DMI logs to analyze any errors which may occur. You can see the same in one of BIOS screen,en-circled in red color below below:

This Warning starts appearing when the logs are enabled and the space for the logs is full.

Lets see how can we fix this warning at start-up.

Fix:

The Fix is really simple, lets go step by step:

1. Restart your computer and while its powering up, keep pressing DELETE Key on the keyboard, this will take you to the BIOS screen.

2. Go to Advanced Setup, find the DMI logs option. This option may be located under different menus under different types of BIOS interfaces.

3. Once you locate the option, Select the option to Clear the DMI logs and also disable DMI logging if you don’t need it.

4. Save changes and exit from BIOS. Restart you computer.

Done. Really that’s it, no more steps. We hope the procedure given above will help to fix the trouble.
