Trouble 1 :

My pen drive / memory stick gets detected by my pc but does not open. It shows the message "Please insert a disk into drive f". Device status indicates that its functioning properly. Properties on the other hand now show ‘0 bytes’. – Prashanth

Fix:

This kind of problem occurs due to three reasons:

1. Faulty pen drive -  Try use the drive on some other computer to ensure that the drive is not faulty.

Trouble 2 :

While playing game on PC, suddenly blue screen of death appear and PC have to be shutdown. – Sahil

Fix:

 Trouble 3 :

I can’t make safely remove pen drive work. If i make safely remove then it shows, the program is in use or use by another program. There are three options given : 1.Cancel  2.Try again 3.Continue. If i give continue then it make safely remove. Pleas give me solution this problem – Sathishkumar

Fix:

Close all the files and programs that are opened from the pen drive and then remove it, it will get removed easily this way. The other thing you can do is to try the un-locker tool suggest in out tutorial – Generic Volume Can Not Be Stopped Right Now

 Trouble 4 :

I have a problem that when I view any videos online, it plays and gets stuck. Same thing happens when i play games. I have installed flash player, directx etc…I even formatted my computer,even formatting didn’t solve it. – Nandu

Fix:

The problem of online videos getting stuck is because of the Slow Internet connection in most of the cases. It can also be because of high CPU usage. As you mentioned that the games also get stuck, so I would advice you to check the CPU usage with task manager and see if some process is taking too much CPU. Follow the below steps :

3. If there CPU usage it too high, see this tutorial to fix it – CPU usage is 100 % 

If all this does not solve your problem, test your internet speed and upgrade your computer’s RAM

I have performance problems in my laptop. My laptop is very slow, it takes a long time opening applications. – Venkatesh

Fix:

Fix:

If you are not able to find compatible drivers correctly on the Lenovo website, there might be some hardware changes to the model you purchase. I would suggest you to read the following article: Know Detailed Hardware Configuration Of Your Computer. After you have the detailed configuration at the device level, for example you know that you have a broadcom Ethernet card,now you can search for the broadcom driver for that particular card and so on. Its bit hectic to do it this way, but it will solve your problem.

My desktop icons,fonts and also the screens look too large and horrible. – Divya

Fix:

Looks like the display resolution of your screen is messed up. Try to change the display resolution or change the icon size. These are some helpful article for you to fix your problem:

Trouble 5 :

My pen-drive is detected in my computer but could not open. I found it has memory 0 bytes in the properties.I had tried by changing the option in POLICIES tab in Device manager but cannot solve this problem and also i cannot format it. It is detected and displays please insert Disk into drive. – Ganesh

Fix:

Looks like there is a memory corruption or some hardware fault in your drive. However you may try the below solution which may or may not solve your problem, but its worth a try. If that does not fix it, you must replace it under warranty (if applicable).

We just got a quite common problem regarding pen drives, one of our reader Emmanuel Ayivi sent us a problem regarding pen drive detection.

When ever I insert my (4GB my flash) pen drive into my PC and any other PC I am
unable to open it. The message that am prompted with is “insert disk into drive”

As it’s clear from the message in quotes, this problems occur when you insert when your removable drive to your USB port, it detects your removable drive but throws an error window saying – Please Insert a Disk into Drive \ Device when you try to open it.

One of the most possible cause of this issue when you have a removable drive which try to get a drive letter which is already reserved.

This could happen due to the default behavior of Windows XP when you may have e: drive assigned to a network drive or other hardware drive and removable pen drives tries to occupy e: drive as drive letter.

Fix:

In order to resolve the issue, use the following methods given below:

Method 1:

Insert the removable disk in the removable drive before you start your computer. But in this case, make sure that the first boot device in BIOS is not USB drive, else computer may not boot at all.

Method 2:

1. Log in as Administrator account in windows or any other account with administrative privileges

2. Insert your removable disk into the USB port.

3. Click Start, now right click on my computer and select manage

4. Now, click Disk Management

5. Right click on your removable drive partition and select Change Drive Letter and Paths under Disk Management ( you can find your drive easily through size )

6. Change the drive letter some other drive letter like X: or Z: which is not reserved by some other drive on windows.

7. That’s it! Done.
