Trouble 1 :

I have a dvd which i burnt using nero 8. The disk worked great for some day but then the disk stopped working all other dvd work fine its only this one dvd which does not work. I have a feeling it corrupted. How can i make it work or copy the data of it. – Mukesh

Fix:

I would suggest you to put the DVD in a computer having better condition of DVD writer and take the data backup. You can also try cleaning the lens of your DVD writer using lens cleaning kit or Lens cleaning disk. See this article for details : Not Able To Play Scratched CD / DVD

I have a problem that is I can’t remove the folder in my flash drive namely zhengbo. And I have lost my folder option in my computer. – Htoi

Fix:

For a while now, when I’ve started my computer my screen displays "frequency out of range", I just power off the machine and it boots up fine. Just today, my computer will not boot up at all. I formatted my computer after that I installed gigabyte drivers, but the sound device is

Fix:

From your description of problem, it seems that you have installed the Motherboard and Chipset drivers but the sound drivers are still missing. For that you either need to look for these drivers in your motherboard driver CD or you need to download it from Motherboard manufacturer’s website. Trouble 1 :

I have a problem opening up group policy editor on my laptop running XP home from the run command. – Mark

Fix:

Group policy editor is not available for Home edition of Windows XP. You can use group policy editor by running “gpedit.msc” in professional edition of windows XP.

Trouble 2 :

I recently bought one Acer LCD monitor from our Kuwait local market. My problem is after I connect my Acer LCD to the CPU and just I want to format my computer so i put my Windows Operating system cd (Windows XP professional) in the drive to boot but that time the screen is shows input device not recognized and black screen and its written like "Input Device not Recognized".But if I remove the boot cd from the drive and start the computer its working normally so please suggest a solution to me. – Shan

Fix:

The reason as per what I can figure out is the graphic card to which the monitor has been connected. When you are using an operating system boot CD, that time connect the LCD monitor to the on-board VGA port at the back of the computer casing (which you are calling CPU). This will ensure that the video output is always there even in the absence of the graphics card driver.

After you install Windows XP, install the graphics driver on it, and connect the monitor back to the Graphics card. This should solve your trouble.

Trouble 3 :

I cannot access my registry editor. why ?  – Manas

Fix:

The registry editor gets disabled due to malicious scripts or viruses or trojans. To enable the registry editor, see these two links:

I have dell laptop with windows xp sp2. Whenever I try to open internet via Internet explorer “send / don’t send error appears”.When i click “send or don’t send” all web page are closed. Please help me to resolve my issue. – Hemant

Fix:

Alternatively you can try using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, both of there are pretty nice browsers.

Trouble 5 :

USB drive is disabled by administrator in LAN based client PCs. how to enable usb drive in client pc though it is disabled/ blocked by administrator? Is there any program or vb script which can enable USB without administrator. – JB Soni

Fix:

We have been receiving lots of mails from our readers having problems with the registry editing on their system mostly because of virus activity.

Whenever they open Run and type regedit and press enter a message prompt appears saying “Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator“.

Let’s see how can we fix it.

Fix:

There are two ways through which you can enable registry editing in windows XP

Method 1:

You can use a simple UnHookExec.inf to enable registry editing.

1. Download UnHookExec.inf

2. Right click on the downloaded file and select install.

Method 2:

For enabling you can also use the remove restrictions tool by Sergiwa.com, if the method 1 doesn’t work for you.

we have already posted how you can remove the restrictions imposed by the virus with RRT

1. First Download Remove Restrictions Tool

2. Run and check the registry tools and click apply.

Method 3:

if the above two methods does not work for you , you can also try executing a small vbscript which I found on major geeks.

1. First Download EnableRegEdit.vbs

2. Double click on the downloaded file to enable registry editing.
