Trouble:

One of our reader mailed us this simple question that how can he save the opened tabs in Google Chrome and restore them when he restarts Google Chrome. By default Google chrome does not save the opened tabs but you can simply configure Google chrome to restore the opened tabs on restart.

Here is how you can save a browsing session in Google Chrome with any number of tabs opened

Fix:

Open Google Chrome and click Settings Icon on the extreme right top of the Google Chrome, as shown in the image below

Select and click options in the above menu as highlighted in the image above, and then a new window will open up. Under the Basics tab you will see the radio button option which says

Restore the pages that were open last

select this option and click ok at the bottom of the dialog window, that’s it done

Geeky Way

Just in case if you don’t want to use this setting there is another geeky way with which you can create a desktop shortcut to terminate all instances of Google Chrome and when you start Google Chrome next time it will ask you to restore all tabs.

Create a Desktop Shortcut To Kill Google Chrome

1. Right click on the empty area of the desktop and select new >> desktop shortcut

2. Now copy and paste the following path in the target box

C:\Windows\System32\taskkill.exe –f –im chrome.exe

Note: –f is for force kill and –im is to kill all instances of Google chrome

3. Give a name to your shortcut and click Finish

Now you can also terminate all the instances of Google chrome with this shortcut.
