Too Many Options In Windows Context Menu

by Abhishek Bhatnagar on April 6, 2010

When the computer is new, it has very few items in the context menu. With time we keep installing utilities and softwares to out computer, some of which modify the Windows Context menu. Below is how my Windows 7 context menu looks like when I right click somewhere on a folder and select new:

Long context menus become too long sometimes and it makes the computer respond slow to the right clicks. We have already written on tutorial which was about editing context menu on an advance level – Computer Hangs While Creating New Folder

Even if your computer does not hang on right click, it still makes sense to remove the unused items from the context menu and make the Windows computer respond faster to the right click.

Shell New Handler is a small portable utility, you need not install, just download and run it by a double click.

This is a small utility and provides you a very easy access to the New File options on the context menu of Windows Explorer. You can simply remove the items that you don’t use and don’t intent to use via context menu for creating new files.

Doing this will not only make the context menu look tidy, but also it will make the context menu faster.
