FileWing is another program which lets you recover the deleted data on your flash drives, hard disk drives and memory card etc. We have posted about some other similar softwares like NTFS Undelete, Recuva and 3 ways to recover accidently deleted files
Lets understand what happens when you delete a file in windows, why you can easily recover a file even after shift+delete
If you delete a file in Windows, this file isn’t really deleted. Windows instead intentionally "forgets" where the file is located on the hard disk. It is possible to restore some of these files if they have not been overwritten on the hard disk.
Overwritten here means there should be another files created, copied to the same disk location from where a file gets deleted, other wise the deleted file recover would be more difficult or impossible in some cases.
Following are some key features of FileWing
Checks hard disks – It checks your internal and external hard disks and also USB-drives and can identify files that have been deleted. If you mistakenly deleted some files, FileWing can recover these files in most cases.
Recovers lost files – It can recover deleted files. Just name a folder where you want to recover the files and FileWing will do the rest.
Safely deletes – It uses different methods to delete data safely. You can choose between 7 different algorithms, which overwrite the files-to-be-deleted with different patterns from 1 to 35 times. The methods we use are based on scientifically proven algorithms – now you can be sure that your deleted files will never show up again.
This application supports Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 too
