Malwares & Trojans Infecting Windows XP And Windows Server 2003 – Prevent Trojan Attack

There is a vulnerability in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Help and Support Center which was discovered by a Google employee last week. After giving a timeline of 5 days to Microsoft to fix the vulnerability, he made the information public on the Internet. Using this exploit, many websites are spreading Malware and Trojans using this exploit.


Microsoft is working on making a hotfix and testing it for public release. Till the time this hotfix is released in Windows Update, Microsoft has released a temporary Fix It Patch to disable the hcp protocol on the computer.


The temporary fix may create problems if you use hcp dependent applications on your Windows XP / Windows Server 2003 computer. We wanted to share this fix with our readers so that they can safeguard their Windows computer until the hotfix is released. Microsoft has released a security advisory on this vulnerability.

Recently there has been a clickjacing attack via Facebook, we suggest our readers to be very cautious of clicking any link or any button on any website which they do not trust. This may help preventing the attack. Also, till the time the hotfix is released, install this temporary fix by Microsoft.
